Uploading a handwritten sheet is a great option if you already have a written list of items.
You can upload photos or scans of handwritten loss sheets, and Adjusto will automatically turn them into items.
What works best
For best results, make sure your handwritten sheet is:
- Clear and well-lit
- High resolution (avoid blurry photos)
- Taken straight on (not angled)
You must keep handwriting neatly inside each cell. Handwriting that bleeds into another column or row will not import properly.
Handwritten List Column Requirements
- Room – The room the item was in (we organize items by room)
- Description – Be descriptive and include as much detail as possible, including brands and model numbers
- If you have a Sony X90 4k television that’s 55 inches:
- ✅ Good description
55” Sony X90 4k TV - 🙅♀️ Bad description
TV
- Age – How old the item is, in years (for example: 1, 0.5)
- Quantity – How many of the item there were
- Price – Optional – The price for a single item
- We recommend including this when possible, as it greatly improves the claim process
- Store – Optional – Where the item was purchased
- Condition – Optional – One of:
New,Like New,Average, orBroken

Our AI is really good at reading handwriting (even my chicken scratch).

A quick note on neatness
Handwriting doesn’t need to be perfect, but it does need to be orderly.
If text bleeds into other rows or columns, the AI may accidentally split or combine items.
Upload your handwritten sheet
Once your photos or scans are ready:
Open your claim and go to the Upload Sheet page (or Upload tab on mobile)

Upload your handwritten sheet and hit Upload. We’ll process it and add the items to the Items page.
If something doesn’t look right, you can edit items after they’re uploaded—or re-upload a cleaner sheet if needed.
For large claims, typing your list into a spreadsheet may be faster, but handwritten sheets work great when they’re clear and tidy.
