You can use videos or photos to automatically add items to your claim. Adjusto’s AI reviews them and creates items for you.
Both work—but we recommend using videos whenever possible.
Why videos work best
Videos make it easier to show items clearly and give context. As you record, you can describe what you’re filming, and Adjusto will pick up on those details.
Tips for great videos
You don’t need anything fancy—just your phone’s normal camera app.
The best videos are:
- Recorded using your phone’s regular camera
- Short (a few seconds up to about 3 minutes)
- Talkative — describe items as you film them
“This is a Breville drip coffee maker I bought about 3 years ago at Target for around $50.”
- Well lit
- Clear and in focus
Rule of Thumb: If another person could tell what the item is from the video, Adjusto can too.
A few helpful guidelines
- Start with just one video
Record a short video capturing just a few items and upload it, it’ll help you get the hang of it.
- Film one room at a time
Items are organized by room, so keep each video focused on a single room.
- Show brands or model numbers when possible
It’s okay to pick items up and turn them over while filming.
- Avoid duplicates
Photos and videos can’t automatically remove duplicates, so try not to upload multiple files showing the same item.
Upload your photos & videos
You can upload as many photos and videos as you’d like.
To upload:
- Open your claim and go to the Photos & Videos page (Photos & Videos tab on mobile).
- Create a new Room to add your photo or video to.

- Select the photos/videos you want to upload. You can upload multiple files to multiple rooms at the same time. (We recommend uploading a max of 10 simultaneous uploads).

- Wait for uploading to complete. You can track it’s progress with the purple bar at the top of the page.

Once uploaded, our AI will process the files for you. This may take a few minutes—we’ll email you as soon as your items are ready. After that, your items will be available to review in the Items page (or Items tab on mobile).
You don’t have to keep Adjusto open when photos & videos are in the Processing state.

Using photos instead of videos
Photos work too, especially for smaller areas or individual items.
Keep in mind that photos capture everything visible, so Adjusto may create multiple items from a single photo. That’s okay—you can always add, remove, or edit items later from the Items page.
